We often get questions about inviting kids to weddings — especially a Las Vegas wedding. Is it appropriate to invite kids? Is it okay to not invite kids? Should I provide childcare? Can I included a flower girl and ring bearer but no other children? Answers to these questions depend on the style, formality and feel of your wedding. Some couples couldn’t imagine not having nieces, nephews and friends’ little ones around. Others have planned a more adult affair and prefer the children stay with a childcare service. It’s a personal decision, but one that you will have to make about your wedding.
If you do opt to have children at the wedding, and especially in the wedding party, remember to be light hearted and relaxed about it. You can’t control a child throwing a tantrum right before going down the aisle so if the ring bearer needs to walk down with Mommy or pass on his duties to the flower girl, just go with the flow. The kids provide the best entertainment during the ceremony processional and gives everyone a lighthearted laugh or sentimental moment of “ahhhh, so cute!” right before the bride makes her entrance.
